BH: What do you love most about blogging?

Randi: I love the way blogging pushes me to be creative and forces me to think outside the box to come up with something completely unique and new. It combines my love of creating with a platform to share that which is the best of both worlds.

BH: Tell us a little bit more about your decorating style in general.

Randi: My decorating style is very eclectic. I love to combine vintage and new with quaint and quirky touches and lots of color. I want my home to show my personality and feel welcoming to everyone that walks through our front door.

BH: How would you describe your holiday decorating style? And how has it evolved through the years?

Randi: My holiday decorating style is ever changing. Like my everyday style, it’s also a bit eclectic. I like to switch it up every year, adding some new decorations, throwing in a new trend, and adding elements that are fun and unexpected. I like traditional holiday colors but I also love to throw in some bright décor.

BH: What holiday decorating do’s and don’ts can you share with our readers?

Randi: Do decorate with what you love. Do pull out all those handmade ornaments from the kids. Do let the kids decorate the Christmas tree even if that means all the ornaments are clumped in one spot. Do use lots of candlelight and white sparkly lights to add some magic to the holiday season. Don’t worry about making the Pinterest-perfect Christmas. Don’t be afraid to try new things.

BH: Is there a holiday memory that left an impression on you from your childhood or recent years?

Randi: I don’t have one specific memory but I love being an adult and seeing Christmas through the eyes of my children: the magic, the wonder, the excitement. As an adult, it’s so fun being able to create memories for my kids. I love hearing them say, “Remember the year we …?”, and seeing them look through albums at photos of years past.

BH:  What is your must-have ornament or piece of Christmas décor, and why?

Randi: The tree is obviously a huge favorite, but one of my most recent must-haves are the vintage stocking stretchers that I now hang on my mantel instead of traditional stockings. They’re such a fun and unexpected touch!

BH:  How did you go about choosing your Balsam Hill tree and ornaments?

Randi: I love color and I wanted to break away from the traditional. I knew a white tree would be the perfect base for color and would add a really fun, modern touch to our playroom. I wanted to add an element of fun to the season.

BH: What do you like most about your Balsam Hill tree? How do you plan to decorate your tree?

Randi: I love the sparkly white of my tree!  It feels fairy-like and almost magical. My tree will be decorated in bright, bold, oversized color.

BH:  Are there any holiday traditions that you enjoy doing with your loved ones every year?

Randi: Church on Christmas Eve is one of my favorites. Standing among friends and family in a darkened church filled with candlelight while carols play is just quintessential Christmas to me.

BH:  What can we look forward to on your blog this holiday season? Do you have exciting new holiday decor or party ideas?

Randi: You can expect lots of fun craft and décor ideas. I’ll be sharing a new themed cocoa party or two along with simple ideas for adding holiday magic to everyday moments.

BH:  Can you tell us in a sentence what Christmas is to you? (Christmas is…)

Randi: To me, Christmas is a celebration of the best gift the world ever received.
