Last month, we collaborated with DIY blogger Sara Davis on her fall front porch makeover. In today’s post, we partner up with this talented decorator once again as she adorns her Christmas tree with elegant ornaments and shimmering accents.

Sara and her husband had a tradition of buying live trees every Christmas. Sara shares some of the challenges that they’ve encountered through the years: getting their vacuum clogged with fallen needles, dealing with water stains on the carpet, constantly worrying about the potential fire hazard presented by a dried-out tree, and having one of their decorated trees fall over in the middle of the night.

This year, they decided to forego the stress of picking out and using a live tree and chose Balsam Hill’s 7.5-foot BH Fraser Fir. It was delivered straight to their doorstep, and Sara was delighted to discover that everything was neatly laid out and organized – including the storage bag, gloves, and assembly instructions.

The tree featured labeled sections, which made assembly as simple as stacking the numbered pieces together. Sara added her chosen decorations once the branches were fluffed and everything was in place. She confides that she fell in love with the artfully textured finish and handcrafted quality of our French Country Ornament Set.

Sara complemented her ornaments with trimmings: lustrous Metallic Berry Picks, glittering Jute Pinecone Picks, elegant Winter Pearl Glitter Picks, and her favorite out of the collection, the intricate Victorian Cutout Champagne Ribbon. As a great finishing touch to their tree, she added elements of softness and warmth with our Lodge Faux Fur Tree Skirt.

Sara and her husband were truly happy with the sophisticated and understated centerpiece. For more design inspiration, take a closer look at our new decorating themes at Balsam Hill.
