All of those pretty twinkling trees dressed in delicate baubles and garlands bring so much beauty to our homes during Christmas.
I can hardly wait to bring those trees and favorite ornaments out and set them up each year. So when it is time to pack them away after the season, of course, I want to make sure that they are stored safely.
Tree Storage Tips
Probably the biggest question I hear about storing a Balsam Hill tree is: How do I store it? How is this big tree going to fit in that tree bag?
Because your Balsam Hill tree comes with a sturdy storage bag, you are ready to go. Before storing your tree, make sure to open that storage bag fully because it’s much larger than it appears.
Tip #1 – Give It a Hug
Start by gently giving each section of the tree a hug as you take the tree apart. Just wrap your arms around each section to help flatten the tree branches and get them in a compressed form to place in the bag.
Tip #2 – Tag It
Tie a luggage tag to the handle on the tree bag and label which tree it is. If you have more than one tree, labels are a huge help to be able to know which tree it is.
Be careful not to store your tree in extreme heat or cold conditions to keep it in perfect shape for years to come.
Storing Wreaths
Balsam Hill has an amazing wreath storage bag that I absolutely love.
This is large enough to hold several wreaths and garlands inside.
Storing Ornaments
Balsam Hill ornaments sets come in a sturdy box that you can reuse for storing again each year. They also have storage cases to keep your ornaments organized.
Last season, I repurposed the European Essential ornaments boxes for presents and placed them under the tree. They are charming corrugated boxes and look great wrapped in ribbon.
Make sure to keep the ornament box inserts for easy storage when the season is done. You can also add stickers or tags to the boxes if they aren’t marked because so it’s easier to find which set you’re looking for next year.
Storing Picks and Everything Else
Keep your picks, garlands, pinecones, and ribbons together in a storage bag or box. If you’re planning to have the same look for next year, place the whole “look” together and label for easier setup.
With proper storage, you can keep your Balsam Hill trees and ornaments beautiful for years to come.
Can you believe that I’m already jotting notes and ideas for Christmas decorations for the next holiday season? And I’m all about simple. So by keeping all those Christmas trees and decors labeled and stored properly, it will be much easier to keep them safe and find what I’m looking for when it’s time to set up again.
