Twinkling lights, sleigh bells, and trees aglow – Christmas is a time that is filled with magic around every corner. And I am one of those people who love to fill every corner with a touch of Christmas.
From a tree to an ornament on a door knob to a bowl filled with glass ornaments. That goes for outdoors as well – I love looking out the window and seeing a tree all lit up with a little bit of twinkling Christmas cheer in the yard.
This month, I took an outdoor tree from Balsam Hill and created a coastal inspired dinner party look. From seashells and sand dollars to lanterns lighting the table to that big beautiful Christmas tree as an enchanted backdrop.
A Christmas tree is a perfect way to bring a ton of ambiance for a Christmas in July dinner party. Since it is summer, and the beach comes to mind, I decorated the table and tree with a coastal theme – and the key was keeping it simple.
On The Table
Simple white dishes add the perfect amount of elegance – and the gold flatware and wine stems echo the gold detail on the edges.
For the centerpiece, a garland was the starting point. Since it is powered by batteries, this garland was a perfect choice for outdoors – and no cords for your guests to trip on.
Sand dollars, starfish, pieces of coral, and driftwood were perfect for adding a coastal touch.
For a little more light and that warmth to dine in, I used Balsam Hill small lanterns with candles for that ambiance and coastal evening glow.
The Tree
Set behind the table – a stately 9′ Allegheny outdoor tree creates a most enchanted setting. This tree is a perfect tree for using outdoors as it is an all-weather construction. It also has larger LED lights which create a gorgeous glow that lights up the night.
I scattered a few of the larger lanterns filled with battery operated candles at the base of the tree for added charm. For the tree decoration, I kept it simple and coastal-inspired.
I used a chunky rope tucked in among the branches as a garland and dotted the tree with starfish. I also brought out a few of the pale blue Winter Frost glass ornaments to add a touch of that gorgeous seaside blue color and glittery pine cones that echo the beach theme and the color and texture of sand.
Hosting a coastal-themed Christmas in July is a perfect way to get friends and family together for a special occasion in summer – and a way to bring a touch of Christmas magic to your party.
And from an early evening glow…
to a late night glow…
your guests will most definitely be enchanted.
