Kara loves inspiring women to unlock their creativity. She shares DIY projects, home decor ideas, craft tutorials, and recipes through her blog, Creations by Kara. Whether it’s in the garage, the craft room, or the kitchen, she believes that anyone can make something beautiful to be proud of, and believes that if she can do it, so can everybody else.
For Mother’s Day, we asked her to share her thoughts about her mother.
Describe your mom in 3 words.
My mom is compassionate, understanding, and driven.
Describe what your mom means to you in one sentence.
She is the only person in the world who totally understands me, and she is my best sounding board, counselor and friend.
What’s your favorite activity to do with your mom?
Honestly my favorite thing to do with my mom is just spend time talking to her. She always helps me see the bigger picture and feel better about myself.
What are you most grateful to your mother for?
All the sacrifice that went into raising me to be the person I am today, and teaching me that being a mother is the most important job in the world.
What’s your favorite way to show your mom that you care?
Spend time with her, and help her with home projects. We just re-did her laundry room, and it was a blast!
Are there small things your mom does for you that lets you know she cares?
She is the best note writer, and I have saved dozens of handwritten cards and letters she has sent me over the years.
