Christine is a wife, momm, bookkeeper by day, wanna-be decorator, animal lover, Pinterest addict, and author of the blog Little Brags. The blog is her outlet where she shares her love for decorating and being creative.

For Mother’s Day, we asked her 9-year-old son, Robbie, to share with us a few things about his mother:

Christine

Describe your mom in 3 words.

BEST  MOM  EVER

Describe what your mom means to you in one sentence.

She means the UNIVERSE to me.

What’s your favorite activity to do with your mom?

Doing crafts together!

What are you most grateful to your mother for?

That she is a loving Mom.

What’s your favorite way to show your mom that you care?

I tell her that I love her and I hug and kiss her!

Are there small things your mom does for you that lets you know she cares?

She helps me with my homework and she lets me play on her iPhone

Christine also expresses her views on motherhood as she shares how her mother influenced her in bringing up her family:

What is your favorite part about being a mother? What is the most rewarding and most challenging aspect of it?

I love taking care of our boy, and seeing him healthy and happy is indeed a HUGE reward. He makes us laugh and smile every day and adds lifelines and plenty of noise to our home. The biggest challenge for me has been having to be strict and come up with a punishment when necessary.

Has motherhood changed how you decorate your home?

Luckily I have always loved a rustic touch, so I did not have to change my style much. Naturally I make sure not to get pieces that show every finger print, such as glass tables, nor would I ever dream of getting a white couch. I never have been one to decorate with fancy vases, and fragile things around the house anyways.

Has your mother influenced how you decorate and entertain in your home?

She sure has! We like a lot of the same things and every time she visits us, I have a to-do list of little projects for her to do for me, mostly sewing pillow cases, changing curtains around, etc.

What advice has your mother given you that you would also like to give to your children?

There’s is a lid for every pot.

Is there an activity you do now that still reminds you of something you did with your mother as a child?

Cooking and baking together! Although, I pay much more attention now than when I was younger.

Do you have any springtime traditions you would like to pass on to your children and grandchildren?

Coloring Easter eggs together and Easter egg hunts.

How do you and your family prepare your home for spring? Is there a specific piece of decor you put out that signifies spring has arrived?

I don’t have a specific piece of décor I put out each year, but we do one project together every year that signifies spring has arrived. Our son has this adorable little pet bunny named Bugsy, and every spring the little furball has to endure a photo session, where he has to pretend he is the real Easter Bunny for our Family Spring-Easter Greeting card. We always come up with the cutest photo props and have lots of giggles in the process.

What’s your idea of a perfect Mother’s Day celebration?

I am not ‘high-maintenance’. Simply being around my family and not having to cook for the day is great!
