As I mentioned over at my blog this morning, entertaining outdoors long into the wee hours of the morning is a favorite thing for me to do during summer.
Evenings spent out under stars and moonlight just feel so magical to me. And with the sounds of the crickets playing background music, the warm bounce of the moonlight off the water in the fountain, and the flickering candles lighting the path to warm evening memory making – who can resist throwing a get-together filled with all that ambiance?
Over at my blog, I shared a quick view of several spaces where I love to bring in the magic of evening lighting, and I thought I would include a few tips for lighting over here as well.
#1. Candles
The flickering light of candles is irresistible all year long, but especially for providing ambiance outdoors.
I love the Miracle Flame LED candles because they not only add that amazing amount of charm, they are also safe for using anywhere since they are battery-powered.
Tuck them in between plants and line paths with them, and don’t forget to look beyond the party area and place a few candles by themselves to light up the the background.
It is a definite way to bring an abundance of charm to your evening.
#2. String Lights
Who doesn’t love the look of string lights at a little charming cafe? Bring that magic to your home by putting up a few string lights in your yard.
Above an outdoor dining table, running along the pergola or even zigzagging through tree branches- those lights are an instant hit the minute they are turned on.
And they are charming when they are glowing right at dusk…
And even more so in the darkness of evening.
What do I love about the Globe Cafe Lights? They are that classic, charming shape and size, and they look beautiful glowing in the day as well as evening.
#3. Fireside Glow
If you have a little corner in your yard that is under appreciated, why not create a little spot for evening fires with a fire pit?
The great thing about fire pits are that they can be tucked into any little space for an instant conversation and entertaining area.
Whether roasting marshmallows and making s’mores (and using these handy Roasting Forks),
or just sipping hot cocoa by firelight, a fire pit brings a ton of beauty with the warm glow of the flames bouncing off the copper.
Adding the charm and ambiance of evening lights is a sure way to enjoy those warm nights out under the stars making summer memories. A group of talented bloggers will be sharing their evening lights this week in the Light Up the Night Summer Housewalk with Balsam Hill, so be sure to click on the links below and see what they have in store.
