Fall wreath

It is hard to believe that autumn is just around the corner. And that means enjoying cups of cocoa and cider, warming your hands by the bonfire, and lots and lots of seasonal touches…

Like colorful leaves and berries and of course… pumpkins.

Today I am sharing 5 tips for decorating your porch for the season. And the best part? They are all simple and easy to do.

1. Hang A Colorful WreathFall wreath decor

Your front door can go from summer to fall with just a switch of a wreath. I love berry wreaths since they add so much texture, like this autumn-hued berry wreath which is pretty much autumn perfection. Get a similar look with this wreath.

2. Use Versatile Garlands

A simple leaf garland is always on point. I am a huge fan of magnolia for many reasons. The texture and sheen of this foliage, with the shiny green leaf reversing to subtle gold, and the fact that you can leave this up as decoration all season long – and into Christmas as well by changing the pumpkins for Christmas ornaments. Find the foliage here.

3. Add Pumpkin Planters

I am also a big fan of stacks of chunky pumpkins. Place them on the steps or in the garden, and use them as planters. Simply find a few flattened Cinderella types and stack them on seasonal greens or clippings from your yard.

4. Place Lanterns

Always a good idea for setting the mood, lanterns are beautiful ways to light the porch and walkways and add an extra amount of ambiance and charm. Whether using traditional crossbar lanterns, wood lanterns, or even simple metal lanterns, it is easy to tuck an LED candle inside and enjoy.

5. Pumpkins and More Pumpkins

Probably my favorite tip of all – load up on those pumpkins. Whether you go with bright-orange ones or more pale Cinderella types, or even seasonal squashes, scatter them about your seating areas for instant autumn charm.

having…..when you get my age you hardly get the bed made and it’s time to pull the covers down again. Just remember to enjoy each day to the fullest. You will not be able to live one of them over again. ENJOY !

  2. Loved the wreaths and love your ideas. Sometimes keeping it simple can be really important and a great way to have gorgeous decor.

  3. I like that you suggested having lanterns since they will be able to add a different ambiance and charm to the property. I will definitely follow your advice now that we wanted to decorate the backyard to make it cozy. This will be perfect timing since we plan to hold my birthday party there in an intimate dinner with my family.
