The Christmas festivities began early for Balsam Hill. We kicked off the Christmas tree and décor shopping season with a special blowout at our Burlingame showroom – all for our blogger friends.
The evening’s main event was a wreath decorating contest hosted by none other than our resident design consultant Dagmar Obert. The contest featured an all-time customer favorite, the Vermont White Spruce™ artificial Christmas tree, as the grand prize.
It was an evening of delectable food, fine wine, and great laughs made all the more festive with hourly raffles. We gave away a snow globe, Mercury Glass Ornament Set, and Sparkle and Snowflake Ornament Set.
For the wreath decorating contest, participants were given the opportunity to demonstrate their decorating skills on BH Noble Fir, BH Balsam Fir™, BH Fraser Fir™, and California Baby Redwood™ wreaths using ribbons, floral sprays, and an assortment of ornaments, which included the Mercury Glass Ornament Set, Owl Ornament Set, and Manor Robin. Participants were given only 30 minutes to decorate. After they were done, they were given the opportunity to describe their wreath and explain why they used a certain look or theme.
There were nine participants in the contest: Yuliya Patsay, Lizelle Green, Eden Silverstein, Emily Martin, Ana Picazo, Melisa Bleasdale and daughter, Kim Morgan, Camille Simmons, and Judy, Cam Bowman‘s mom and the contest’s grand prize winner. The winning wreath was voted on by Dagmar Obert, Rachel Faucett, and the Balsam Hill marketing team.
Other winners include Melisa’s daughter, who won the Vienna Snow Globe; Kim’s husband, who won the Mercury Glass Ornament Set; and Camille, who won the Sparkle and Snowflake Ornament Set. No one came home empty-handed that night as each participant in the wreath decorating contest was able to take home the wreath they decorated.
Before the contest winner was announced, Dagmar took the other bloggers aside and informed them that one of the bloggers, Rachel Faucett, was celebrating her birthday that same night. After Rachel cast her vote for the wreath decorating contest, a birthday cake was brought out, and everybody sang a heartwarming birthday song for Rachel, to her surprise.
Judging by the smiles seen around the showroom, the night was a success. In Dagmar’s own words: “It wasn’t a glamour event; it was a girls’ event, and it was really fun!”
A demonstration of one of our newest products, the Flip Tree, was also done for the benefit of those present.
