Her passion is evident in her writing, as she shares her ideas for refreshing and revamping looks, and decorating in practical ways. Let’s find out more about what inspires Debbie through our exclusive Q&A below.

BH: What do you love most about blogging?

Debbie: I love being creative and sharing ideas with my readers. But what I love most is the community of bloggers that I’ve met since I started blogging.

BH: Tell us a little bit more about your decorating style in general.

Debbie: Decorating to me means surrounding myself with things that I love. If I had to describe my style it would be eclectic country. A little shabby mixed in with a farmhouse feel.

BH: How would you describe your holiday decorating style?

Debbie: I love everything about decorating for Christmas and my style changes each year. Most years I decorate with a traditional Christmas flavour, and other years it’s all about colors! And how has it evolved through the years? I am more comfortable with my style, I don’t follow trends. Decorating for Christmas is all about the family and our lifestyle at the time.

BH: What holiday decorating do’s and don’ts can you share with our readers?

Debbie: Don’t take yourself so seriously and have fun with your decor. Don’t try to be perfect, enjoy the season.

BH: Is there a holiday memory that left an impression on you from your childhood or recent years?

Debbie: We love enjoying a Christmas Eve meal with family and friends, laughing and talking about Christmases past.

BH: What is your must-have ornament or piece of Christmas décor, and why?

Debbie: Fresh greenery, most often magnolia leaves, is a must-have when decorating for Christmas. They just say Christmas to me!

BH: How did you go about choosing your Balsam Hill tree and ornaments?

Debbie: I chose the 9-foot Frosted Sugar Pine Tree because frosted trees are my favorite, and the height is great for my 2-story living room.

BH: What do you like most about your Balsam Hill tree? How do you plan to decorate your tree?

Debbie: I love how realistic and full the tree is. I will be decorating with metallics and blues.

BH: Are there any holiday traditions that you enjoy doing with your loved ones every year?

Debbie: We love to pile in the car with our cups filled with hot chocolate, and drive around to look at Christmas lights.

BH: What can we look forward to on your blog this holiday season? Do you have exciting new holiday decor or party ideas?

Debbie: I am sharing free gift tags that you can download and print from your printer, as well as easy recipes and decor ideas. Wreath ideas and table decor are just a few of the ideas that I will be sharing.

BH: Can you tell us in a sentence what Christmas is to you?

Debbie: Christmas is being with family, creating memories!

This tree is gorgeous!! I love how she used aqua, but it’s got a woodsy lodge feel, that becomes slightly whimsical with the addition of the un-traditional color. Very Christmasy, with a touch of fabulous. Perfectly executed.
