5 Steps for Creating a Charming Autumn Porch
Ahh autumn, you are so pretty.
Today, I am sharing five tips for creating a charming autumn porch for autumn that says “Welcome!” in a big way.
With those colorful leaves, crisp misty mornings, and fresh air – the season inspires you to wrap up in a cozy blanket and relax by the fire with a cup of cocoa. And autumn also inspires beautiful porches and patios wearing all those warm colors and charm of the season.
1. Start with pumpkins
Pumpkins, pumpkins and more pumpkins. Whether orange is your favorite look or you like those charming muted fairytale styles, pile those pumpkins on your steps and add instant charm.
2. Potted cabbages and kale
Mix in a few clay pots full of cabbage or kale for a soft natural look. They are so easy to tuck in between the pumpkins or dot a few of the steps.
3. Stack them up
For a unique look, stack those pumpkins up on an urn. Heirloom pumpkins are short and squat so they make perfect stacking pumpkins. Place a bit of greenery like eucalyptus in the pot and then a couple of pumpkins for added dimension to your decor.
4. Bring on the lanterns
I am a huge fan of these amazing lanterns from Balsam Hill – and they are absolutely perfect fireside in the backyard and on the front porch to light the way. Fill them with the indoor/outdoor Miracle Flame candles for a charming welcome.
A perfect mix with pumpkins and for that in between season before it is all things Christmas – Magnolia. I love this Balsam Hill magnolia wreath and garland on the front door to welcome guests for Thanksgiving.
Putting together a charming and inviting porch is as easy as 1-2-3 with these beautiful pieces from Balsam Hill. Happy Decorating everyone!
