A Romantic Table Setting for Valentine’s Day

I am what you might call a HUGE fan of ambiance.

From the right lighting for your home to the right flowers on the table to the twinkling lights on the patio for a dinner party. Ambiance is key when hosting a dinner party or a romantic get together for two for a special occasion – and it can be put together with a few easy elements.

Start with your Centerpiece

A centerpiece can be simple or over the top. For this, I wanted charming. I used a base of that gorgeous faux eucalyptus garland dotted with a few seeded fresh greens and flowers.

One of my favorite tips when working with faux foliage is to add a sprinkle of fresh. Faux foliage is amazing because you can use it over and over again, year after year. But don’t be afraid to bring in flowers or even clippings from your yard to accent it.

Flowers

Several small containers filled with mixed garden roses tucked into the foliage down the length of the table is perfect for adding a touch of romance without being over the top.

You will also find some favorite candle holders adding a big amount of ambiance.

Candles

These punched metal hurricane lanterns are gorgeous.

The soft glow from the Miracle Flame LED Candles coming through adds just the right touch.

On the rock fireplace behind the table, I used more eucalyptus garland and tall zinc wash candlesticks to add a touch of glow just behind the table.

Another tip? Add ambiance with twinkle lights in the background and scattered along the table top. Don’t be afraid to add too much in the form of small candles, but do remember safety first if using real ones.

Rustic and Refined

Simple yet gorgeous details on the place settings will play well with your garland and flowers, and something else – add a pop of pizazz with gold flatware for a regal touch against the rustic table top.

Remember that when setting a table for two or for 10 guests, making your guests feel special is key. From the centerpiece and flowers to the lighting to the place settings. You can put together a magical setting with just a few elements that bring an ambiance that makes guests want to linger at the table just a bit longer.
