Balsam Hill’s Blogger Event: Burlingame Showroom Launch
It’s always a pleasure to see so many friendly faces together, both old and new. Such was the case when we held our exclusive blogger event to celebrate the grand re-opening of the Balsam Hill Tree Lot at our Burlingame showroom.
It was a festive evening filled with fun, decorating, prizes, laughter, and best of all, the company of some really lovely people. Read on to find out what the Balsam Hill family had in store for our special guests.
Beautiful Balsam Hill holiday décor items were raffled off at the beginning of the event and throughout the night. Bloggers were invited to tweet using the hashtag, “#balsamhilltreelot”, for more chances of winning prizes such as our shimmering White Glitter Tabletop Tree, and colorful Mistletoe and Holly Glass Ornament Set.
On to the main event – wreath decorating! Our very own design consultant, Dagmar Obert, along with Courtney of French Country Cottage and acclaimed floral designer Brad Schmidt, started off by sharing their own decorated wreaths. Dagmar decorated hers with traditional red, gold, and green for a timeless look. Rustic white, brown, and green completed the color palette theme favored by Courtney, while Brad chose to give his wreath a more modern flair with metallic ornaments and accents.
After that, it was the bloggers’ turn to decorate their own pre-lit wreaths. Our guests had their pick of ribbons, ornaments, and floral picks, and were given 45 minutes to create their holiday masterpiece.
At Balsam Hill, we celebrate the spirit of family and togetherness, which goes hand in hand with our love for the Christmas season. We welcomed our bloggers’ children at the event as well, and even our CEO Thomas Harman arrived with his son, Jack, in tow. The children helped decorate the different wreaths and received candy cane prizes for a job well done.
Last came the difficult part of deciding which of the decorated wreaths made it to the top three. After the bloggers explained the concept and inspiration behind their respective designs, Dagmar, Brad, and Courtney were given the tough job of judging which wreaths made the cut.
The winner was the Vermont White Spruce wreath decorated by Ana of Finding BonggaMom. She, along with her twin sons, decorated the lush wreath with candy canes, pinecones, floral picks, and ornaments in red and metallic hues. A vibrant bow provided the perfect finishing touch, making this wreath stand out and garnering Ana the prize of a $300 gift certificate.
To cap the night off, there was a draw for the grand prize, a $500 gift certificate which Lizz of Am I a Funny Girl took home. Our participants were also asked to have their photos taken with their decorated wreaths, and were given gift bags as tokens of appreciation. Our blogger friends who enriched the festivities with their presence included Kim of Kim Six Fix, Anne of Left Brain Craft Brain, Natasha of Fabulously Domestic, Ngoc of San Jose Food Blog, among others. Thanks to all of you wonderful ladies!
The Balsam Hill Showroom Event was definitely a night to remember and treasure. Watch out for more photos of our special guests and their beautiful wreaths in a future post. From the Balsam Hill family to yours, happy holidays!
