How to Choose the Perfect Christmas Tree

With so many options for artificial Christmas trees, picking the right one may be a challenge. There are several factors to consider, such as height, width, and needle composition. Here are some tips to guide you in choosing the perfect tree.

Floor Area – It’s important to consider the size of your space, particularly the spot where the tree will be placed. This makes it easier to narrow down options.

Size – Christmas trees come in various sizes and forms. Slim trees are ideal for small and narrow spaces, while full trees are best for wider spaces. Keep an allowance of at least 10 to 12 inches from the ceiling.

Theme – Your decorating style represents your personality and brings out your home’s character. If you want a Winter Wonderland theme, choose a white tree. If you like traditional Christmas decor, go for the classic green.

Realism – Lifelike artificial trees have thick foliage, lush needles, and sculpted rounded branches. Another way to check is by looking up the PE composition—the higher the PE, the more realistic its appearance.

Durability – A perfect tree must have a strong branch structure that keeps ornaments in place all throughout the season. Find trees that have sturdy stems, hinged branches, and thick needles.

Lighting Options – Pre-lit trees come with clear or multicolored lights. There are also LED options, which are more energy-efficient than standard Christmas lights.

Safety – Make sure the tree is secure on its base and the light bulbs will not cause fire.  Generally, those with anti-twist mechanism in the bulb and socket are safer, avoiding electrocution and other accidents.

Set-up and storage – Trees with hinged branches are easy to assemble as they simply fold up for set-up and fold down for storage.

Follow the tips above and you’re sure to find the perfect tree for your home. Happy tree-hunting and decorating!
